Scuba Optics began operation in 1983 when the company identified a niche in the prescription dive mask market, and we began offering prescription dive masks to dive shops on a wholesale basis. In 1994, Scuba Optics relocated to Rock Falls, Illinois, from the Chicago suburbs where operations continue today in the same location. Some of our staff have been with us since the move to Rock Falls and most have been with the company for over five years.

During 2024, Scuba Optics upgraded its equipment and streamlined its processes to be even more efficient in fulfilling dive shops' prescription dive mask orders. With in-house surfacing equipment, we have more control over the final product and can confidently produce more complicated prescriptions for our dive shops' customers prescription dive mask orders.
